getting to know us

"Every dog must have its day."

Hi, my name is Vincent and I am a graduate of the National Dog Training Federation, with a Certificate III in Dog Handling & Training - and more than anything, I love working with dogs!

The ethos of Dog's Day Training is that the key to a happy and healthy relationship with your dog is based upon a foundation of communication and mutual understanding between you and your dog.

Dog's Day Training operates on a balanced system of Operant Conditioning, a system that uses both Reward and Correction to build in your dog an understanding of what you want them to do, and the consequences (good or bad) of how they behave accordingly.

Most importantly, Dog's Day Training believes that your dog should be a happy and engaged companion that enjoys obeying your commands, and maybe even teaching you a thing or two along the way!

Client Testimonials

Highly professional & showed genuine care for my dog.

Really worked to cater for our dog needs!

Would recommend this service to any pet owner. Vincent is truely wonderful - thanks a million V, it’s been a great year!
— Elisa & Sheriff (Border Collie)
I have a ginormous 1 year old Puppy called Izzy, with very little training, exhibiting signs of dominance, separation anxiety, jumping on every visitor, and a shoulder popping strength on the lead.

We met with Vince 4 weeks ago, and the change in Izzy is incredible. He teaches me the reasons behind her behaviour and techniques to change them.

My beautiful puppy now greets people at the door with a sniff and a tail wag. She can now sit, shake, drop and go to bed. We’ve almost mastered ‘stay’ and I can now walk her without fear of shoulder dislocating!

Vince is friendly, knowledgable and my dog’s new favourite person. High recommended!
— Sarah & Izzy (Wolfhound X Staffie)
Vincent has been training and pet sitting our Female ‘Spanador’ Mia for the last 2 years.

In this time we have found him to be extremely trustworthy and he constantly demonstrates a great affinity with animals in general.

I would highly recommend Vincent to anyone as I believe he has a skill set that sets him apart from the rest. He is a calm, knowledgeable and creative individual that would be a great asset to any pet owner.
— Liz & Mia (Labrador X Cocker Spaniel)
Really impressed with Vincent.

We’ve used other trainers but he has an ability to explain the process and gives us great homework to carry out between sessions.
— Paul & Ruben (French Bulldog)

About Me

MY NAME IS VINCENT and I love dogs.

I discovered my love of working with dogs after moving to Melbourne in 2016. I discovered that I knew very few people in Victoria and so began volunteering at a nearby RSPCA as a way to get to meet new people, and quickly discovered that working with dogs of all sizes was much more fulfilling than my day job!

I enrolled in a Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training with the National Dog Training Federation, including a special interest unit in Assistance Dog Training, graduating in early 2018.

As a dog trainer and handler I utilise a balanced system of Reinforcement and Correction to create a safe and supportive training environment where dogs and their owners learn to communicate with one another and achieve their training and behavioural goals.
